The Cast
At the Nordharz Opera in Germany she performed Adele in Die Fledermaus (J. Strauss), Annchen in Der Freischütz (Weber), the Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflote (Mozart) and Stasi in Czardas Princess (Kalman).
Yael was a member of the Israeli Opera’s Opera Studio, where her repertoire included Pamina in Die Zauberflote (Mozart) and Gretel in Hansel and Gretel (Humperdinck). With the Israeli Opera she performed Eco in Armide (Gluck), the Queen of the Night in the community production of Die Zauberflote (Mozart), Clorinda in the Community production of La Cenerentola (Rossini) as well as in the Opera and Fairytales production and in many Israeli Opera concerts.
He performed Fiorello in Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Rossini) with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and with the Israel Sinfonietta Beersheva, Aeneas in Dido & Aeneas (Purcell), Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro (Mozart), as well as in the operas The Cheater (Avidom) and The Bald Soprano (Israel Sharon). His liturgical repertoire includes Messiah (Handel), St. Matthew’s Passion (Bach), the Faure Requiem, Schonberg’s serenade Op. 24 and other works. He is a member of the Israeli Bach Soloists.
Beside his singing career he studies conducting with maestro Avner Biron. He received the AICF, Ronen Foundation and Eli Leon scholarships. Yair Polishook is a member of the Israeli Opera’s Meitar Opera Studio where his repertoire includes Papageno in Die Zauberflote, Leporello in Don Giovanni, Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte (Mozart), Belcore in L’elisir d’amore(Donizetti), Frank in Die Fledermaus (J. Strauss) and other roles.
At the Israeli Opera he performed Leporello in Don Giovanni (Mozart) in Akko, the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland (Sebba), the Marchese in La traviata, Ceprano in Rigoletto (Verdi), Schlemil in Les Contes d’Hoffmann (Offenbach), the Notary in Don Pasquale (Donizetti), the Officer in Il barbiere di Siviglia (Rossini), Perichaud and the Butler in La rondine (Puccini) and others.
As a chansonnier and playing the guitar, he performs around Europe and Israel.
Sylvain also wrote “Alice”, a play that was performed in Paris.
As an actor, he performed at the Israeli Opera in different productions, such as Othello (Verdi), Don Carlos (Verdi), Luisa Miller (Verdi) and Tosca (Puccini). And behind the scenes, he works as a stage and light technician with different dance, theater and music productions.
For “Little Opera” he combined his skills and was responsible for designing and producing the set of “Il Segreto di Susana” and acting the mute roll of “Sante”.
